Thanks. Now that you remind me, I did hear something about the 35 man roster.
A little investigation shows that anyone receiving any scholarship money must be counted as part of the 35 man roster. Waivers are nominally possible, but my understanding is that those typically are only granted for a player missing an entire season due to injury - which wouldn't quite describe Quantrill last year.
I didn't see anything that made it clear if it is possible to cut one walk-on from the roster for another midseason - though some bits I read sounded like a "no".
