A lot of new information in this article. It says that official visit or not, Demetris and his brother are going to visit Stanford. Also that he is "very very close" to having the score for Stanford, so he is taking the March 5 SAT.

Also that he is very serious about wanting to join the track team at whatever college he goes to.

I see these quotes and shake my head.  Does some admissions officer really tell these kids, "you are almost in, you just need to up your SAT score a few points?"  Really?  Horrifying if true, on many levels.  And if not true, where do all these tales about retaking exams at the last minute come from?
