Geno is clearly a very successful (though I won't say "great") coach, but he's always been a narcissistic jack*ss, who has made me nauseous almost every time I've seen him speak.  His every thought seems to be about himself and what various developments may make people think about how great he (thinks he) is.  Not surprised at all that he'd fail to mention Stanford... not enough room in his brain to think that far West.
