Really interesting about Texas. I think a big part of the problem with the LHN is that they launched it right as UT hit a rough patch in its revenue sports, and I think that's had a fatigue effect throughout the university's alumni fan support. It's hard to justify having a network of your own when you're barely in the top half of your conference.
And re conference realignment, In many ways, UT is a better fit for the Pac-12 than the Big "12". The two major stumbling blocks, in my mind, are who they would pair with, and whether the regents would allow it. Post-Perry-stuffing the regents, I don't see them being very supportive of realigning with the Pac-12, which is perceived by many in that part of the country as full of elitist west coast liberal institutions.
