It sounds like Stanford is out of the picture here (not too surprising). One thing I'm a bit confused about--many have referred to May 1 as Stanford's binding deadline for enrollment. However, I seem to remember that Jameis Winston got into Stanford and delayed his decision until mid-summer. Am I misremembering, or he did get some sort of exception for his decision deadline? It's not intuitive to me why May 1 would be a binding deadline given that football recruits normally get their admissions decisions on a rolling basis.

There are always exceptions to every rule. I had a classmate at the GSB who applied in May or June, right after he sold his second company, and was accepted immediately for the following September.
