IIRC, all "open parties" during my time at Stanford (mid-2000s) had to be registered with OSA and everyone had to have a Stanford ID to enter, and be 21 (with ID to prove it) to get a wristband for beer. Have they changed the requirements? Otherwise, I wonder how the victim, who was not a Stanford student, even got into the party? It's irrelevant to the outcome, of course, but it makes me think enforcement is as much of a problem here as the rules themselves.
