Little suprise that France, as host, made the final. They were automatically the seeded team in Group A.

Also, Iceland and Wales would have qualified from the prior, better Euro format. Portugal as a team that didn't win a single game in their group advanced, and won a terrible bracket to make the final. My thoughts echo Jonathan Wilson's - https://www.theguardian.com/football/blo...mediocrity
