Agree, Neuheisel was both enjoyable and insightful with the Pac-12 network.
And it's unclear whether he's proposing it seriously or just tossing out the idea. He's got a point -- UCLA, like all college programs, has shown that money is an important driver for its decisions. Maybe that's as it should be. But it shows an important flaw with letting money and the market be the most important or sole decision-maker in an institution. The point of UCLA athletics isn't to make money; it's to beat SC. To win the Pac-12. That's why generations of fans are Bruins.
Speaking as a Stanford fan, I don't want to see a college sports world of Stanford's that doesn't revolve around beating and crushing those guys in the east bay or south central. That's the point, and that's why I signed up.
