That's like saying that because Fuji's are apples and are so good, I'd have to say they are the best fruit.

I mean, we understand that that    is basically an award for the most-hyped-good-QB-or-RB-if-there-is-no-exceptional-QB-that-year, but "best player" is much harder to gauge.  I would argue that the year that Andrew Luck lost the    to Cam Newton, the best player in college football was Ndamukong Suh.
