As amazing as Ledecky is in the pool, I have been continually impressed with DiRado when she is interviewed. She comes across as someone who is loving every minute of her Olympics, perhaps because she knows that this will be her last competitive swimming experience (she is retiring from swimming and starting her career, I think for McKinsey, in Atlanta, where her husband is from). Hard not to see her succeeding in whatever career she pursues.
On a completely separate note, I saw a commercial where Ryan Lockte was talking about a swimmer that inspired him, and he picked Pablo Morales, specifically because of his sportsmanship after winning the 100m butterfly in 1992. Nice to see Morales mentioned, and doubly nice to see him praised for his sportsmanship.Â
