As posted above, Foluke injured her knee at the end of the first set (landing awkwardly on a block attempt), tried to play a few points at the beginning of the second set and then sat down with an ice pack on her knee. According to the announcers she passed an ACL test.
Her absence seemed to really discombobulate the US which lost the next two sets, but then the US regrouped and got outstanding hitting from Karsta Lowe off the bench, won the fourth set and led 10-7 in the fifth before serving and passing errors did them in. Serbia played extremely well (particularly on offense) but Foluke's absence was likely the difference in such a close match (also note that the US had beaten Serbia 3-1 in group play). Pretty depressing all around.
