Yes, very much so. Even having Candace Parker on the team would have increased my interest, since I've become an LA Sparks fan and Parker is one of Nneka's teammates there.
Supposedly the team is picked by a committee and the coach has input but is not on the committee, just as in Tara's year as coach when she was publicly not entirely happy with the selection. But they sure do load up on UConn grads. Last Olympics there was fan friction about older UConn grads on the team who were past their prime while younger rising players like Nneka were left off. This time Nneka is still left off while a new UConn grad (admittedly a great player) is included.
