A friend of mine who works for the university doing... something insists that this was not a reaction to the Turner case. He claims that the Provost notified students in March that it could be coming, which was before the case became a social media shitstorm. He said the main goal was to bring down trips to the ER and they've been trying to come up with ways to do it for a while. I find it sort of hard to believe that there's no connection whatsoever with the Turner situation, but who knows?
