The Stanford Daily article about that game has a picture of Marquess running the ball, with a caption stating that Marquess completed 4 of 6 and ran for 25 yards. The box score has team stats only and shows that Stanford completed 5 of 12 passes, so another QB must have played for Stanford as well. The article describes Jack Root's three TD runs, including one on which he "literally flew into paydirt." Literally flying is an impressive skill!
