One of the main objects of desire in this reconfiguration is the Big East\'s automatic BCS bid.  Meanwhile,  the Pac-10 has already said it will apply for two  automatic BCS bids and not have a conference playoff game.  With expanded conferences and the Big East\'s legitimacy always under scrutiny,  that BCS, and the Big-12\'s  bid are prime targets.
More than one conference would LOVE to have another BCS slot, Â so it won\'t be an automatic for the Pac-10. Â The argument for, of course, is that we would have the competitive heart of the Big 12 and most of the conference\'s big names, so the Big 12 bid should go with them...natcherly. Â Dunno how it will work out. Â
