Well, I said this elsewhere, but after rewatching the game I think the second-half meltdown was because of 4 things:
1) The fumble. Fluky so not super concerning, practice that and don't screw it up any more.
2) Burns's accuracy got wonky in the second half. It didn't look to me like he was hurried on his inaccurate passes, but he was either delivering dimes or throwing it into the dirt/airmailing it, so something was weird. No close-but-no-cigar throws.
3) KSU's defense made some really great plays. Sometimes you do everything right and the other guy is just better.
4) The OL whiffed a few times. I don't think this is the same as #3, because there shouldn't be 3 guys behind the LOS to gang-tackle McCaffrey ever. Ever ever. That's on the OL.
Perhaps from a coach's point of view more of those problems were on the OL, perhaps enough were that he's fine just blaming them, perhaps it's a motivation tactic. Either way we have two weeks of practice to sort it out.
