I grew up in Minnesota, so I get it. I've tailgated in below-zero temps, so I'm open to the experience, but I can imagine it would not be so pleasant for many of us who hail from warmer climes.Â
But leaving aside the conceit of the 7 10-team conferences, using campus sites seems like the most workable option for an 8-team playoff, doesn't it? I know there would be some cold weather games, but is up to 3 bowl games on short notice really workable? And if you have to use campus sites, then I'd think a couple of weeks after the conference title games would be the time to do it, to allow teams to prepare for those games.Â
