I haven't eaten at Steak 'n Shake in a long time, but I do have fond memories of the place from the '80s and early '90s. It's probably a situation where the reality of the food is a far cry from one's childhood memory of it. And if you're comparing it to Shake Shack, prepare to be disappointed. (Though perhaps they've overhauled and upgraded the menu substantially; otherwise I have a hard time seeing how they're going to be able to compete in the Bay Area.)
