Personally, I don't understand the appeal of the fast casual burgers. They're way more expensive than fast food (last time I looked at this Five Guys was about twice as expensive as In n Out), but not that much cheaper than a sit-down place. They're better than fast food, but not by the same margin as the price, and they're typically way worse than a sit-down place. I just don't see the appeal of the Five Guys or Shake Shack or whatever when you look at the other options.
Incidentally, this is also why I don't understand arguments about whether [insert fast casual chain here] is better than In n Out. It's at least 50% more expensive, it had better be better!
