This definitely plays a role, I think. And with a smaller student body than most of our opponents, Stanford likely won't provide the same crowd that some of our larger conference-mates would. Had UCLA beaten Texas A&M, the Bruins might be a Top 10 team right now, and this weekend might have been big enough to host. Gameday at the Rose Bowl has an appeal to the folks at ESPN, I should think (with the Friday setup being somewhere on campus).
Oh, well. Maybe next year.Â
