By the way, I think the call was blown on two levels.  Owusu hung onto the ball until his forearm hit the ground.  The ground caused the fumble--except it can't.  It should not have been a turnover at all.  If he had possession, then it should have been a completed pass.

My thoughts exactly.  And that was really obvious on the replay.  Not sure how it got missed.

I guess I can't be as disappointed in the officiating crew as I am at the replay officials. Crews miss stuff all the time. But the replay was pretty hard to dismiss.

Right.  Refereeing in real time is incredibly hard, so I have a lot of sympathy for the officials on the field.  And even on replay, it's often not clear -- cameras just didn't catch the angle needed to make the call.  But this one was obvious on replay (both that targeting should have been called and that even if it wasn't targeting, the ground caused the fumble).  Despite how the game turned out, I'm still furious about the calls there.
