Utah saw a nice jump this week in the AP poll, from 24 to 18. I know it's early, but Utah in the Pac-12 title game might be our best remaining opportunity to get a quality win before the playoff matchups are decided. Still have a lot of good teams to play, but they get Washington and Oregon at home. It'll be interesting to see how they play at C.al this weekend.
Also, ASU is 26th, as it's the first team listed in "others receiving votes" with 135 points, just 7 back of #25 Georgia. They'll have to beat SC in the Coliseum to get ranked, though.
Colorado also got some votes this week, going from 0 points to 33, for basically a #31 ranking.
UCLA was the only other conference team to get votes, but dropped from 74 points to 22. But if the Bruins win their next three (vs. ARIZ, @ ASU, @ Wazzu), they should be ranked going into their game against Utah in the Rose Bowl. As others have noted here, it's a little ridiculous to say that a team is no longer a Top 25-caliber team when it has lost two games to Top 10 teams. If UCLA continues to lose, then sure. But right now? They're 2-2 with the two losses being incredibly hard-fought games to really good teams. Isn't that what you'd expect from, say, the 20th-best team in the country? Oh well. They'll have their chance to get back up there in the rankings.Â
