I too, am of the opinion, that the issue is not the QB. Burns is likely where he should be as a well practiced (over the last 2+ years), new starting QB. I do wish that Shaw had given both he and Chryst some more snaps last year, but that's water under the bridge.Â
The main issue is the LOS and our lack of control of said LOS. I remember the oft used term of 2014, we are "waiting for the line to gel" or jel, if I correctly remember one thread here. UW was prepared and pumped and we were flat and slow. We didn't get the job done in the trenches and suffered the consequences of that miscue. I tip my hat to Coach Petersen and the Huskies and I'm disappointed that we did not bring the toughness of the TWU. I don't mind losing in a good battle, but we were owned. Â
Yes, injuries had an impact, but those are the breaks in football. I'm more interested in how this team responds as there is still much to play for and the team has the talent to make this a great season (yet again). One day at a time, one game at a time. As my coach used to say, "Hit and have fun, boys, and strive to get a little bit better every single day!"
