Some posters here seem to be bitterly angry anytime the team isn't contending for a national championship.  But every program has down years.  And some prominent programs are having much worse years.  Notre Dame is 2-4, and has less than a 50% shot at being bowl-eligible this year.  Oregon, same thing.  Despite the last two games, Stanford has a winning record, and a significantly easier schedule going forward (the two toughest games left are probably against the two 2-4 teams just mentioned).
