I know this is a 2017 thread, but I thought I'd sneak in a 2018 recruit story that just appeared anyway:

She's interested in Stanford, but I know from Bob's past reminders, that that doesn't mean Stanford is interested in (offered) her.

Another (possibly disqualifying) note: Articles usually mention outstanding GPAs or interest in academics when it exists. That is absent here, but it doesn't rule out the possibility.
