I am also excited to see how the other players have improved over the summer. With Lili's absence, we'll need a third reliable scoring option besides Erica and Karlie.
We've seen in limited spurts how explosive McPhee and Smith can be. If they can cut down on their mistakes and get more playing time and show consistency, I think they can fill in for Lili's missing production. They are both so versatile, shooting the 3 and attacking under the basket.
Did Sniezek work on her jump shot (both 3-pointer and mid-range)? It was almost embarrassing (and frustrating) to see how much room opposing teams were leaving her last season, because she rarely attempted a shot herself unless it was a drive to the basket. We've seen the passes she can make. With another point guard in waiting in Anna Wilson, will Marta be more willing to shoot the ball this season (which we saw glimpses of in the NCAA tournament)?
Has Kaylee worked on her post moves? I am not expecting Chiney-like numbers, but expecting more of a Chiney-like role during her first two seasons with Nneka, where little sis was grabbing offensive rebounds and either scoring a putback or given us a fresh possession to work with. With the interior defense focused on Erica, Kaylee needs to step up and contribute inside.
Briana Roberson had long stretches of cold spells last season. With Lili gone and Green having graduated, we'll need her to be productive when Sniezek and/or Karlie resting and Wilson adjusting to collegiate ball.
Will the incoming freshmen make a big splash? With Carrington and Wilson recovering from injuries, how much playing time will they get? With our relative lack of depth inside, will Fingall get an opportunity to shine, especially if Kaylee and/or Erica get into early foul trouble in a game?
