I think there is some evidence that QB's can be ruined by starting them too soon.  I think that is especially pronounced when the offensive line is not great, as players develop "happy feet" and become more concerned with the clock in their head than with going through their progressions.  Part of me wonders whether that has happened with Burns after the UW/WSU games, where he is panicking way too early even when the pass blocking is adequate.
