That being said, the overall offense is currently ranked 101 in S&P+. (FEI has Stanford at #90 as of 10/31.)Â That's an incredibly low level -- lower than any coach to have two top-10 offenses since 2011.
I think there's a strong case for an overhaul in the offensive coaching staff. When Shaw was hired, he spoke of the peaks and valleys of Stanford football -- and said his job was to avoid the valleys. Mission accomplished on defense and special teams (well, post-Brian Polian.) On offense, however, we've seen that that's not the case. He needs to figure out why, and fix it.
