If the local media are correct, Utah will be picked by Foster Farms before Stanford. Utah could and would travel to the SF Bay Area. It is a reasonable drive on I-80 from Salt Lake City for those on a budget. It is a super easy flight. Even if the travel in small numbers they will do more for the tourism industries that are often linked to these bowls than Stanford types living in the area.
FWIW - the big draw for the Chicken bowl is the stadium. The Stanford program has played in that stadium two times in the last 24 months, so not a big draw for the Stanford players.Â
Ignore, or discount, the stadium and the Sun Bowl is a better deal for Stanford.
FWIW2 - It really doesn't matter. Las Vegas is bad because there is not enough time to take full advantage of the bowl training window, the others outside of the NY6 group are probably equivalent to the players and staff.
