Wait a minute! Juarez has really calmed down in the last 5-6 years, although I'm not sure why. Maybe the cartel has killed everyone that needed killing but you don't hear anything like that these days. El Paso, meanwhile, is one of the safest cities in the country and has arguably the best Mexican food north of Mexico City. The surrounding Franklin Mountains are worth a visit and I have nothing but good memories from my trips there to visit one of my Stanford roommates. And, as mentioned, folks there really go out of their way for the Sun Bowl. Plus, the stadium itself is an attraction in itself, right in a natural bowl in the mountains. I like El Paso.
