Didn't realize how true that was until I checked. In the period from 1950-1965, what is now the Pac-12 had a grand total of four victories against the Big Ten, three of which were against Wisconsin.
I grew up in Seattle,and when Washington played Wisconsin in 1960, everyone wondered if the upstart Huskies could stand up to the big, bad Badgers. Washington won 44-8, and there were suggestions after the game that Wisconsin was soft, had too much fun at Disneyland, and hadn't taken the game seriously.
