That was me, as I said earlier. And again, what I don't understand is, if the only basis for the NCAA sanctions was that Rittman "slightly" exceeded the time limits and didn't report them, then why would the NCAA level such heavy sanctions against both him and Stanford? It just seems that Rittman being found personally liable for NCAA level II violations and being placed under a show-cause penalty would be pretty draconian for "slightly" exceeding the time limits and nothing more. And if so, then I am surprised Stanford wouldn't push back rather than terminate a very successful coach, because that sets a precedent for the NCAA to enforce draconian punishments for "slight" violations of rules. I could be wrong, but it makes me think there was more basis to the sanctions than "slightly" exceeding the time limits.
