Davis goes to the Seattle public high school that has a rigorous academic track. It's the magnet school for the high IQ public school students. It has a great reputation amongst admissions officers for producing well rounded and college ready kids. He certainly would have had the opportunity to take a course load that admissions would find acceptable.
However, I heard that he has said that Gonzaga was the runner-up to UW. Maybe Gonzaga doesn't have any room now.
