Maybe someone with a recording can confirm what happened, but I thought that it was Vaughters who made the decision to leave his man (the WR Hagan) as Maynard was being chased by 2 other Stanford players as Cal was on the drive that would lead to their 3rd TD. Vaughters (?) came forward to make a play on Maynard who flipped it easily to Hagan who was uncovered for a TD. Without a replay, I could not tell if the other pursuers had a chance to make a play on Maynard.
