The gap between Stanford, UCLA and 'SC is pretty ridiculous.

It's funny because there's about the same gap in women's water polo between Stanford, UCLA, and USC vs every other school in the country.  In the history of women's water polo those three schools are the only ones to win the championship.  Only two times has another team even made the championship game, in Cal and LMU (once each).  Which begs the question raised in a previous thread, why have the tournament anywhere but California.
