Does match play pair opponents in the traditional 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, and 4v5 format?  Is there reseeding done between quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches?  If not, aren't positions 2, 3, 6 and 7 all set to avoid Northwestern until the final?

Yes, match play is the traditional 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, and 4v5 format.  No reseeding after that, per the schedule posted here on pages 11 and 12:
