Thank you, CI and Farm93. Â I was arguing that televising the Sac State game was a BAD decision from a Stanford football program POV. Â Was essentially labeled a wimp, even though I\'ll be at the damn game (unlike many locals who will now opt for the cool comfort of sitting at home watching the game on the couch).
But more fundamentally and importantly, I don\'t understand why broadcasting a home opener attended by 18K at Stanford Stadium is good for Stanford football. Â To me, it is all bad. Â Dump TV, schedule the game at 6:00 p.m., and you have a shot at having decent attendance (and will undoubtedly have a bigger House to cheer for the good guys).
