Interesting OF. A bit different from the Giants way of doing business in the 50's and 60's when they had one of the great scouting corps in history. Think of the players in the organization in 1958. Three future All Stars at first base: Cepeda, McCovey and White. OF: Mays, Kirkland, Wagner, Cardenal, Brandt, Felipe. Alex Pompez owned the Caribbean and signed the brothers and Marichal. Their main whiff was signing pitchers and made a brobdingnagian mistake on Garibaldi. They traded position guys for Antonelli, O' Dell and Sad Sam but blew good players on Jack Fisher, Billy Hoeft, Bob Shaw and Tom Bradley. Then they imploded in the early 70's and lost Maddox, Matthews and Kingman when Horace ran out of cash.
