The question is whether the PFF ratings give us some additional insight beyond that which we get from watching the team.  Guessing it probably helps in some places where other statistics aren't readily available (offensive line comes to mind).  Unfortunately, there is no measure of uncertainty in any of the numbers, which makes it hard to assess their usefulness (see your comment about limited snaps).

Yeah, I don't think their one-number ratings are terribly useful -- but I do like some of their specific breakdowns. (e.g. sometimes they do stuff like "catch rate on deep routes" which is interesting.)
