I hope that development does happen. The more it does, the better off we will be.

This is good to hear. The more we get from these two guys, the better off we will be. We really do need to see some additional development over last year, where Thomas covered up a lot of mediocrity. If we get nothing, it will be a long year.
Quote:It is imperative that at least 2/3 of Williams, Swann, and Wade-Perry be able to make meaningful contributions for Stanford to be in contention for a Pac-12 championship or more in November. That would give Stanford 5 DL to rotate, and a solid backup for Phillips. Given they play a lot of 2 man DL, that should be enough.ÂI think it would be great if we could get some good minutes out of the three guys you mentioned. I am not sure that it is necessary to us being in the hunt for the North, but it would sure be a lot easier. Without them stepping up, we will be playing with no margin for error, and no margin for injury. It would be nice that we play two down linemen because we want to, not because we have to. We MIGHT be able to get by with two solid linemen plus Phillips. If we can have three or four solid linemen plus Phillips, we should be pretty invincible on defense.
