It's hard to separate the different responsibilities of an offensive line, but the folks over at Football Outsiders have tried. Over the past three seasons they've ranked every offensive line in the country using a combination of statistics traditional (Sack Rate) and esoteric (Power Success Rate). During that time the Cardinal has ranked 59th, 41st, and 48th out of 128 teams. Surprisingly mediocre.

A few things. The stat referenced is "Adjusted Line Yards", which is one of nine separate stats that Football Outsiders presents to evaluate OLs.

It specifically does NOT include anything about the pass game, so that is reason that 2016 wasn't down far from 2015.

It does seem to be the OL stat that they push the most. However, I have always thought that it appears to be particularly ineffective stat.

Here is what they say about the stat,

Adjusted Line Yards (ALY): Statistic that attempts to, even to a small extent, separate the ability of a running back from the ability of the offensive line. Adjusted Line Yards begin as a measure of average rushing yards per play by running backs only, adjusted in the following way:

    0-4 yards: 100% strength
    5-10 yards: 50% strength
    11+ yards: not included
    runs for a loss: 120% strength

Each play is also adjusted based on game situation as well as quality of opponents faced. Adjusted Line Yards can be listed as total or broken down by direction to attempt to isolate ability of specific linemen.

I see no problems with any of those words, and they seem to be things that would play to Stanford's strengths. However, I simply do not believe that the 2015 Stanford OL was only #41 in the country in run blocking, behind teams like ןɐɔ.

But, I don't know what in particular I would object to. Maybe if they gave the exact formula I could figure it out.
