I vaguely remember McKay`s remarks.  At the time, I think my general conclusion and that of my friends was that McKay probably heard something from someone but certainly not from Stanford guys.  I know McKay really held a grudge from the 1970 and 1971 games that he lost to us and he beat us the next three years until 1975 at the Coliseum.  We had the tie in 1979 and then not much good until 1992 or so.  Without beating a dead Trojan horse, I really think the Stanford band and that one song they played was the defining event that cemented in his mind his dislike of Stanford judging from his sideline antics at the time.
