A credible source who played basketball yesterday at Seattle Pacific University (SPU) reported that Anna Wilson looked very good playing two hours of pick-up basketball along with Brittany McPhee, Jordan McPhee, and a few other PAC-12 and local collegiate players. SPU is a site that historically draws many of the better collegiate players in the Seattle area to open basketball gym runs. Anna was especially solid with her drives into the lane as well as attacking the basket, showing no apparent signs of continuing limitations from a concussion that she suffered in April 2016. Her ballhandling skills showed encouraging signs of what may allow her to step in and provide valuable minutes to the Cardinal during the winter.
Brittany was in very good basketball shape as well coming off her participation on the USA U-23 team. A third McPhee sister, Jenna (a high school junior at West Seattle HS), was also playing with and against her two older sisters. Jordan McPhee (Brittany's 5'10" twin sister) will be a senior at SPU this season and is coming off a solid junior year during which she averaged 11.2 points and 5.2 boards per game.
Oregon State players Taya Corosdale (an incoming 6'3" freshman ranked #26 in the Class of '18 by ESPNW) and Mikayla Pivec (who will be a sophomore) were also among the 16 women who put on a pretty entertaining show yesterday at SPU.
