It doesn't take a whole offseason to teach a KR not to fumble/drop the ball.  It shouldn't take more than an offseason to teach your OL how to not hold.  It does feel as if Herman failed to assess his team's ability to execute fundamental football.  Not sure where he is between tier 1 and tier 2, but he sure made a strong case against putting himself in tier 3 (the good one).
