I wonder if Perez is better suited to play strong safety. We've had plenty of good strong safeties in the past who were (it seems) slower than Perez but who positioned themselves well, tackled well, and were big hitters. Maybe Perez would be better suited there. (Though I realize we have a bevy of safeties.)

Except, you still need speed at that position to cover receivers.  I don't see enough speed in him to play that position.
