Perhaps it's subterfuge.

By not announcing who's starting, the Utes have two different styles of QB to prep for, probably with two different types of defensive schemes required. With Chryst, 8 in the box, stop the run. With Costello, prep for both pass and run, yet simpler plays.

Free Phogge!!!! And no, crimson doesn't refer to the Tide.
