Stanford should NEVER line up heavy (no WRs) with Love in the backfield. EVERYONE knows he is getting it, and he is getting stuffed routinely (as any competent D will do).
Stop rotating QBs.
You had a TO at end of 1H. Call plays like you can actually use one before trying the FG.
I would do regular hikes with an I formation or two back set formation - anything where "the play" is not 1 of 2 choices. (And do you notice that when 1st and 10 run gets stuffed; Shaw seemingly always follows that up with a pass play?).
Did like using Love as a decoy (is was asked to block a lot in Q2).
This has "the feel" of every Shaw-Whittington game: Stanford loses a close one where Cardinal fans can point to at least one patently head-scratching decisions by our head guy. [Of course, you can probably say that about most close losses].
