Not saying it wasn't great to win, but it was not, IMO, a quality win because I don't see Utah as a quality team, and Stanford played barely well enough to win. If Stanford won 30-13 or something like that, then maybe the fact they played that well would make me see it as a quality win. Instead, IMO, Stanford won because Utah isn't very good, not because Stanford is especially good.
Stanford's run defense is terrible at #96 in country in YPC (4.77) and allowed Utah nearly half a yard pc more than its average. The 3rd down defense is atrocious at #112 in the country, worse than even Cal. Utah is #97 in 3rd down conversions, did much better than its season average, and had 25 first downs to Stanford's 14.Â
Again, it's great to win, but I just take exception to Utah being considered a quality win.
