An important role of the QB is to energize the offense, impart confidence to the other 10 players, and move the chains consistently. Irrespective passing and related stats, I've seen enough of both QBs to conclude (barring a massive backslide by Costello) that the offense is less likely to stagnate with Costello as QB. He may not have the command of the playbook, or the skill at pre-snap read, as Chryst. But I think that Costello gives a better chance for the Card to go 2-1 against Huskies, Cougs and Domers.
