I read you just fine. Nobody would look at his coaching, or his results, and think possible point shaving even if one knew nothing about Shaw. How can one look at the results, his record against the spread, and think hes coaching as if he is shaving points. Someone coaching as though they are shaving points would not go even against the spread, let alone be 20 games up. Running the ball when you are up late in the game (derisively called turtling here) is a pretty standard strategy. It might drive you crazy, but it is not remotely a sign that someone is trying to shave points. If there is anything else Shaw does that suggests he is coaching to do anything other than win the game, irrespective of the point spread, then I honestly dont see it.
The statement was ridiculous. And frustrated as we might be by the way this game is going, there is no justification for saying that Shaw coaches as if he is shaving points.
